AtoZ Cafe by Yoshitomo Nara + graf

If you know Takashi Murakami, then you probably know Yoshitomo Nara, two Japanese contemporary artists taking spot light around the world. Recently, Sotheby auctioned one of Murakami's anime-sculpture for $15 million...need we say more.

Ok, enough about Murakami. This AtoZ Cafe is a collaboration between Nara and graf, a Japanese creative unit based in Osaka. The cafe is located in Aoyama, Tokyo. Located on the 5th floor of a small low-rise commercial building, the inside is very cozy with a lodge in the center of the floor exhibiting his work. What was also surprising was that this lunch set cost only 1000yen/each (incl tax)! Considering that it is located in Aoyama, an area where LV, Gucci, Prada's and the likes are showcasing its almighty brand power, it was nice to see that some high-profile owners are more people minded. Well, whether you think 10 bucks is cheap or not is something else, but with a coffee included in this lunch meal, it's a pretty good deal in the heart of Tokyo. Hmm, talked more about the food than his art work...
